Video taping weddings was a huge trend back in the 80s. I can remember the poor-quality, dusty, velvet looking church images of my parent’s own wedding tape. It was a great way to capture every moment of that special day, but the quality didn’t seem to really do it justice.
Which is why my best friend Katie, getting married next June, was initially skepitcal of getting her ceremony on video. Until she saw this. She sent it around to her bridesmaids telling us she’s watched it at least 50 times and is now certain she wants to capture her day on video. I couldn’t agree more.
Check it out yourself. It’s gorgeous and the music and song lyrics are perfect.
Check out this couple caught by news cameras (thanks for sharing Amber!)
My friend Caroline is an amazingly talented photographer, and now she has a website to showcase it! Check it out here.
I’m reaching that age where my friends are getting engaged and married. And while I’m in no rush to head down the aisle, I do love all the inspiring wedding blogs out there.
Here are a few of my faves:
The Perfect Palette lets you explore wedding colors and combinations. I’m a big fan of “vineyard” “orchard” and “apple green”. Plus, it lets you peek at gorgeous photos from past weddings.
Tie that Binds is another great site. Not only does it have amazing photos, but it has gift ideas, DIY invitations and announcements, giveaways and even custom design services.
Project Wedding has a great guide for shoes, dresses, songs, cakes and all things wedding. I love this stamp set:
While not as aesthetically pleasing as the other sites, “From ‘I Will’ to ‘I do” has lots of useful information to make wedding planning easier. It includes tips such as: “What to register for” “Shopping for a wedding venue” and average costs for wedding items.
If you’re recently engaged, I hope these resources help. If not, enjoy the beautiful pictures and plan for the future : )
